Glamorgan set up a final day showdown with Exeter after handsomely beating Bristol University 46-12.
The Welshmen more or less wrapped the game up in an action packed first 20 minutes, scoring four tries in the process and taking the lead in only the second minute after Chris Coombs laid the ball off to Ben Rawlings. Coombs converted.
Bristol got a try back just four minutes later after regaining possession from kick-off. Adam Clarke’s grubber kick on the fifth tackle enabled Tom Curtis to pounce and get four points back.
Glamorgan could have extended their lead two minutes later but Darren Jones’ 70 metre run was brought to a halt five metres from the line. However, four minutes later, Rawlings ran 40 metres to score under the sticks. He got his hat-trick on 15 minutes, weaving through the defence to ground.

Gareth Evans laid the ball off to Graham Hughes who extended Glamorgan’s lead to 30-4 on 48 minutes but Tom Curtis got his and Bristol’s second six minutes later to reduce the margin once again.
Glamorgan wrapped the game up with three more second half tries. Gareth Davies scored on 57 minutes grounding after a 50 metre run, before Rawlings laid the ball off to Matthew Whiles on 60 to make it 42-8. Davies got his second on 65 minutes to make the core 46-8 but Bristol had the final say with a James Sedgeley try on 70 minutes.
Glamorgan now travel to Exeter on Wednesday in a winner takes all last match of the regular season for second place in the Wales and West Premier.
