The Bridgend Blue Bulls got back to winning ways at Porthcawl RFC with a 42-22 victory with MOTM Lloyd O’Connor grabbing 22 points with a hat trick and five goals.
Wing Michael Daly scored in the opening minute after a great break from Luke Hole, Lloyd O’Connor converted before scoring an excellent solo try himself and adding the extras for an early 12-0 lead. a break from Lee Sims on his Rugby League debut then sent Andrew Fryer racing to the line to extend the Blue Bulls lead to 16.
The Steelers then hit back with a fine try and conversion before hooker Shaun Owens claimed Bridgends fourth. But the final say went to NPTs Chris Cornelius to make the score 20-12 at half time.

Just like in the first half Bridgend took less than a minute to score when O’Connor ran 60 metres for his second, then Bulls captain Tevita Manaseitava barged over and O’Connor also converted both to give Bridgend a 20 point lead.
Lee Sims then had a try disallowed before the Steelers made a mini fight-back to cut the deficit to 10.
But Michael Daly claimed his second and O’Connor grabbed a third before Michael John sprinted away and set up Tom Williams, son of Wales Legend JPR Williams to give the reigning Champions a 46-22 win, there first victory since the opening day of the competition.
