A twenty six point blitz in the first half gave the Neath Port Talbot Steelers a much needed first win of the season against the West Wales Sharks as the eventually won 40-28.
Tries came from Dean Scully, Mark Harvey a pair from Aaron Bray and the pick of the bunch from Chris Cornelius. This along with two conversions from Peter Smigs and one from Lee Drabble gave the Steelers a 26-0 lead at the break.

Jonathon Griffiths and the game was beginning to look interesting again.
The Steelers however struck back with tries from James Davies and Simon Bailey. The latter converted by Drabble effectively killed the game off for the Steelers.
Griffiths and Dai Norman picked up consolation tries for the Sharks and with Griffiths conversion the Sharks won the second half 28-14 but it wasn’t enough as the Steelers won the game 40-28.
