Valley Cougars made a convincing start to the season with a comprehensive 60-12 home win over West Wales Sharks. Man of the match, centre Hugh Thomas scored one his side's 12 tries and there were doubles for; Stephen Parry, Mark Cooper, Scott Belmont, and James Allen. Carl Thomas claimed a try to go with six goals and Liam Jenkins and Tom Rees also crossed. For Wests, Jonathon Griffiths scored a try and kicked two goals, Joe Beddow posting their other touchdown.
