The Bridgend Blue Bulls made it six wins out of six at Pontypool beating the Torfaen Tigers 58-18 and New Panteg RFC. Star of the show was scrum half Shaun Owens who scored 26 points kicking nine out of ten conversations and racing over for two tries.

The Bulls scored in the opening minute when Gareth Howells broke through some weak tackles to score under the posts and moments later captain Lloyd O'Connor got Bridgends second after good work from Daniel Smith with Shaun Owens converting both for an early 12-0 lead

But the Tigers hit back and some good passing saw Jamie Williams cross in the corner before Damien Smith set up a score for Gareth John Jenkins, Daryl Carter added a single conversion to bring the home team to within two.

A length of the field try from Christiaan Roets restored the Blue Bulls two score lead before wing Chris McGrath used every inch of his body to stretch to the line and claim a fourth for Bridgend. McGraths fellow Bridgend wing Michael Daly then scored twice in as many minutes, the second after a great break by 18-year old stand-off Nathan Hawkins and Owens added all the kicks to make it 36-10.

But the final say of the half went to the Tigers with Liam Davies scoring a fine solo try to make it 36-14 to Bridgend at the break.

The Bulls continued to dominate in the second half, Lloyd O'Connor scored early on before David James claimed his first try of the season and then MOTM Shaun Owens went over twice, the second after a charging run from debutant Craig Cumming,  and Owens also kicked three further goals, missing just one all game.

But the final points of the game when to the Tigers when Damien Smith slipped two tackles to squeeze over in the corner to make the final 58-18 to the Blue Bulls
