The Valley Cougars and the Cardiff Demons shared the spoils with 36 points apiece after a highly entertaining an expansive game at Ferndale RFC.
The Demons took advantage of an early penalty and Graham Hughes powered over for the first try of the game. The extra points were added by Gareth Jones who had a on hundred percent record on the day. The Cougars replied on their next possession as James Allen crossed the line which was converted by Gary Williams. The Cougars kept up the pressure which paid off as Scott Coomber

went over with Williams converting again. The Demons immediately evened up the score with Miles Davies.
Both team traded tries twice more before half time. The Demons with Mark Devine and Chris Holcombe and the Cougars with Lee Williams and Jon Breakingbury. The Cougars, Lee Williams converted one but missed the second bringing the half time score to 22-24.
The Cougars came out fired up in the second half with back to back tries from James Allen and an eighty metre try of the game from Scott Belmont; the first being converted by Gary Williams. This seemed to inspire the Demons who responded mid way through the half with second tries from Miles Davies and Graham Hughes. The Demons held the lead until Anthony Watts scored with 10 minutes to go; the conversion was crucially missed by Williams and despite a number of opportunities by both sides the whistle went with the score 36-36.
