Bridgend Blue Bulls remain favourites for a fifth successive Welsh title after a convincing win in torrential conditions at Little Warren.

They took the lead on 11 minutes when Marc Davies ran under the sticks with Smithson converting.

Matthew Hutchings forced his way over five minutes later to put the score on 10-0.

Steelers hit back on the half-hour after Gareth Moore fed Jason Kenneally to go

over in the corner and James Williams scored a second just before half-time to bring it back to 10-8 at the interval.

Bridgend ran riot in the second half and firmly stamped their authority on the game.

A try from Craig Fox forcing his way over from dummy half extended their early in the second half. Aaron Warner added another with Hutchings converting to make the score 20-8.

Two more tries followed in as many minutes, Hutchings scoring then converting his own try with Craig Fox running the length of the field straight from kick-off.

A Michael John try converted by Hutchings put the score onto 36-8 before the Steelers got a consolation in the final minute through Robbie Morgan with Chris Cornelius adding the extras.
