Cardiff Demons cruised to their second win of the season on Saturday to top the Welsh Conference Premier East table but it was the Valley Cougars who had the first chance to score. They did well to regain possession on the fifth tackle on the 10 minute mark and gained good ground but Neil Edwards’ pass to Paul Davies, who was in space to score, was forward.
However a period of strong Demons attacking play was rewarded with a Chris James try on 20 minutes.
Cardiff’s Tom Burnell increased their lead

with two quick tries just after the half-hour, both of them fine breaks through the defence running 30 metres to ground.
John Byers ran over for a fourth Demons try on 36 minutes before Lyndon Lewis took a short kick-off for the Cougars leading to a Neil Edwards try from the next play to put the half time score on 4-24.
The Demons dominated the second half. Ian Higgins ran in an early try. Kyle Blake forced his way over on 61 minutes before the former Aberavon Fighting Irish centre, Sean O’Brien scored a quick brace - the first a darting run through the middle and the second after catching a perfectly placed bomb from Lee Drabble.
Wes Palmer brought up the 50 mark for the Demons, running in a try in the final minute.
To complete a perfect day for the Demons, the men from Taff’s Well converted all of their tries with Daz White kicking five and Stewart Tobin four.
