Cardiff Demons secured their second consecutive victory with a workmanlike performance against the Cougars.
Mark Dando opened the scoring on four minutes with a ten yard run but the Cougars took their only lead of the day when Steve Daniels touched down under the posts from short range converted by Carl Thomas. Cardiff responded with four tries in eleven minutes from man-of-the-match Andy Jones, Jamie Iles, Gareth Jones and Mark Dando. A Steven Jones try gave the Cougars hope seven minutes before the break to leave the half time score at 24-10.
The Demons were re-invigorated after the break and scored on their first possession when winger Jamie Iles found space on the right wing. Lee Mullane finished off a length of the field move to put the Demons 36-10 up, but a mix up in the in-goal area allowed Steven Jones to pounce for his second of the day for the Cougars.

Gilbertson powered over. Two Idris Evans tries put Cardiff out of sight at 50-22, but Robert Jones went over for the Cougars in the last play of the game to give the home side the final say in the scoring.
Cardiff’s win will put the men from Taffs Well in good spirits for their crucial clash at Torfaen next Saturday, but leaves the Cougars still looking for their first points of the season.
